Beatrijs Dikker

*1989, Utrecht (NL). Living and working in Berlin.

My practise unfolds on the threshold of the arts and the curatorial as well as in writing and performance. After studying Fine Art in Arnhem (NL) from 2008 - 2012, I received a MA at the Institute for Art in Context (Universität der Künste) in Berlin, writing on the concept of ambivalence and the political in the arts.

During my studies I participated at the program for Visual Culture and Contemporary Art at the Aalto University in Helsinki and during my Bachelor studies I was a visiting student at Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing (CN).

Since 2018 I'm part of the initiative Topio - public spance for privacy, which is dedicated to researching  and discussing topics related to privacy, security ans social change in a digital society. By working in mediative formats, we try to get a grasp of how the digital transformation is changing our personal lives and social- economic- and democratic participation of civillians.

Since 2017 I am joining the team at ABA (AiR Berlin Alexanderplatz) e.V., a research-based artist initiative including a artist-in-residency in Berlin. Here I work as a manager and curator, running the residency, organising Salons together with the residents and co-curating and producing the independent salon-series World of Noon together with the founding-team.

Together with Dutch artist Bas Ketelaars, I founded the artists initiative “Wo Meine Sonne Scheint” in 2013 Rotterdam. We are organising site-specific exhibition-projects in the Netherlands and Germany.
